Antonio Sánchez is the father of Bodegas Toro Albalá. Chemist, oenologist and with a different view on the generous Andalusian wine world, he has been a revolutionary since the 70’s. After graduating from the Bordeaux French school, he came back to his homeland to improve the Pedro Ximénez of Montilla Moriles’ quality, finding its value, unique and distinctive, in vintage wines.
Qualified by Wine Advocate, the most important magazine in the wine world, as: “idealist, entrepreneur, winemaker with an authentic character … a brilliant brain of Toro Albalá ideas … an unusual in Montilla-Moriles wineries”.
His knowledge since birth of the Andalusian terroir and the European wine world shaped him into a classic author with modern touches. His wines present the fineness from the Pedro Ximénez at the same time that they carry you to distant universes with elegance and exquisiteness, where time has the last said.
Tradition, delicacy, affection, investigation and effort in each bottle like they were life stories. Antonio Sánchez’s legacy, inseparable from his glasses and a fan of collections and archaeology, does not only offer the creation of authentic oenological gems, but also the expression of a different understanding of the wine culture.
