Bodegas Toro Albalá wines have, once again, obtained Parker points by the Spanish official taster, D. Luis Gutiérrez.
The evaluation must have in mind the rating of different wines. The wines with more than 96points are considered as Extraordinaries, for being deep, complex and with expectations. The wines between 90-96 points are located over the standard, exceptional wine, complex and with character. Finally, the ones between 80-89 are very good quality among average with a fineness note.
The scores are the following:
1980 Don PX Selección with 97 points.
1937 Don PX Ginés Liébana with 96 points.
1990 Don PX with 93points.
NV Palo Cortado Marqués de Poley Selección with 92 points.
NV Amontillado Viejísimo Solera 1922 Marqués de Poley with 92 points.
Fino Eléctrico Del Lagar Saca de Primavera with 88 points.
Some important tasting notes are the following. Don Px Selección 1980 is said “to proceed from a warm and dry year which favoured the ageing of Pedro Ximénez grapes. It has a lot of candied fruits and spices … it surprised me with a complex and rich nose, memories of bitter chocolate, liquorice, roasted coffee, carob grains and black pepper”. Don PX 1990 is said “to have a greatquality-price relation. These wines age in 550-liters, old, American oak barrels for decades, and the wines have a high concentration … it’s sweet and dense, it leaves a raisin, spicy chocolate and slight warm combination at the end”.
Bodegas Toro Albalá wants to share the satisfaction that these achievements give us. Keeping these high ranking for six years is thanks to the constant effort in search for quality, exclusivity of each harvest and the artisanship of our products.
